Sesame Street Live

Unless you work for the theater group Sesame Street Live or have worked at a concert hall where they have performed you will never see this side of it, backstage. The Big Bird costume is the most complicated one that they have, so when it is not in use they hang him. Hanging it also makes it easier for dancer to get it on and off as it just has to be lowered or raised. Between Big Bird scenes in the show you will often see the top part of the costume hanging like this, but with the addition of a sweaty hyperventilating dancer sitting underneath it wearing Big Bird pants.

Big Bird hung up in the shop. This print should be very morbid with the noose around big bird's neck but the drawing is sort of playful in the drawing's handling. The etch seems to be a too hot of an etch you bleached it a bit, like the other one. Were you doing both lithos at the same time? Did you use the same solution for both or did you mix new etch for each?

I had a bit of an accident with this one. I had found what I thought was a full container of Gum Arabic (labeled as such) put it on my stone started to bubble ferociously and burn my hands a little, turns out it was actually ferric chloride. I got it off pretty fast, I actually am kind of suprised this one worked at all.

I only actually used straight gum for both, outside of the ferric chloride accident.
