Essence of Mulberry
This is another Frankenthaler woodcut, called Essence of Mulberry. It is the first one that she made in conjunction with master printmaker Kenneth Tyler. The dark purple color is actual mulberry juice from the Mulberry tree outside of Tyler's shop.
Mulberries have a mild flavor but the stem part of mulberry can get in the way of straight up indulging. Mulberry pie is quite good with its own unique,pleasant flavor...different then raspberry,blackberry or bosenberry.
